Native
American flute INSTRUCTION BOOK format, PDF: The flute
instruction books are in PDF format. These books are complex
in both content and layout and the only widely available
format to accommodate absolutely everyone is PDF. Unless
your computer is extremely old, you will already have
the free Acrobat Reader application on your computer.
If you find you don't, you can download the free Acrobat
Reader application (also called "Adobe
Reader"), from adobe.com.
You'll only need to make sure you choose the right version
for your computer (Mac or PC), and operating system. When
you open your instruction book in Adobe Reader, you can
read it on your computer, or, better yet, print it off
for reference.
NOVELS
book format, HTML: When you buy any FluteFlights novel
you will receive it as an HTML file. This is a very flexible
format. You can read the book on your computer by simply
opening it in your favorite web browser. (This is our
most popular format.) You can also convert this HTML into
a variety of useful formats with free conversion programs
available online. Below are some of our favorite reader
devices, along with links to take you to conversion and
reader software that will allow you to convert your FluteFlights
HTML to your desired format.
If
you don't want to convert your novel yourself, simply
email us and tell us which format you'd like: the book
in PDF, the book for the Palm, the book for Microsoft
Reader. We'll be most happy to send you your novel, unzipped
and ready to read on your favorite device.

-Reader
Devices-
The
default reader device is your computer. And with today's
laptops, you can store and read hundreds of books on your
trusty laptop. But there are many other reader devices you
may not have considered, or may not even know about. So
here's a rundown of devices you can read your books on.
IMPORTANT! Even though the images below look to
be relatively the same size, they are not. The Palm, Smartphone,
and Pocket PC are all the same size as well as the size
you would expect them to be, (think large cell phone). The
Sony Reader PRS-505 and eBookwise are much larger. The screens
are about the size of a paperback book screen.

SMARTPHONE:
None of us at FluteFlights owns a Smartphone. But you can
read our ebooks on it by using the free Mobipocket
conversion and reader software. The Smartphone is about the
size of a Palm or Pocket PC. That's kind of large for a cellphone,
but if you want it to display text large enough to read a
book, you'll need to sacrifice a bit on size. |
|
|
PALM:
The palm has many uses and great flexibility. One of its more
attractive features is it's ability to display ebooks. There
are many software applications, (most are free), that enable
you to read your favorite documents, whether they be for business
or pleasure. Our favorite format is Mobipocket.
where you can get free conversion and reader software. There
are other Palm formats that can be made from an HTML, Plucker
among them. |
|
|
POCKET
PC: Another favorite device is the Pocket PC. It's the
size of a Palm, but since it's Windows based, it runs like
Windows. Like the Palm, it has many features and great flexibility.
And you can store and read ebooks on the Pocket PC, too. Our
favorite Pocket PC ebook conversion and reader is here.
There are other Pocket PC formats that can be made from an
HTML, Plucker among them.

Sony
Reader PRS-505: This reader is the first device to use
the new Digi-Ink technology. The print is crisp against a
white screen. The screen takes very little power, so you won't
have to recharge the battery very often. This is the ultimate
in ebook reader technology. If you open our HTML in any word
processor application that will, then save the HTML as an
RTF, you can import your RTF to the Sony Reader. Reports are
that the original Sony Reader would not import RTF files,
but if you own the PRS-505, you can import RTFs. We own the
PRS-505 and it's a beautiful reader. They are available at
all Borders books stores for around $299. The reading area
is roughly that of a paperback book. |
 |
EBOOKWISE:
You
can read your HTML on the eBookwise reader sold by Fictionwise.com.
If you are interested in this reader, ($139 with 64 Megs of
book memory, a real steal in ebook readers), go to ebookwise.com
for all the details. Your won't need to convert the FluteFlights
HTML to read on the eBookwise. This reader takes to HTML ebooks
like a duck takes to water. <g> Why is this reader less
expensive than the Sony reader above? Because it doesn't use
the new Digi-Ink technology. But the screen is very readible
against its backlilght. The reading area is roughly that of
a paperback book. |
