THE FLUTE IS YOUR STARSHIP: Do you hunger for the great outdoors? Do you like to visit the mysterious deep woods--at least in spirit? Even a visit to the park with our kids can be a welcome respite from the everyday stress of our responsibilities. And even some who might not be physically comfortable camping out in a tent find they can still deeply connect with the spirit nature provides. What's important is that we know how to transport ourselves there in some way, even if it's not practical for us to physically go there. Is there really a way to take ourselves into this most beautiful of places--a place where we can refresh ourselves. Even emotionally heal ourselves? Yes! A perfect way to visit the place of our heart is to simply sit with our beautiful Native American flute and play. Play your kids, (or even yourself), into a healing, meditative state with a soft rendition of Brahms Lullaby. Or you might want to lose yourself in the blues. You can let your soul take flight on the wings of a tune played in the meditative style of the Native American flute. Or maybe play an American folk tune or a Celtic tune while your friends sing along. The flute is like a starship; it's a magic chariot that can take you to the stars and beyond. It can take you to the very edge of the universe. But first you need to know how to fuel it up and fly it. The book and learning system, Earth Flute, will help you earn your starship license. Do you want to learn to fly? Flight is just a mouse click away....

REVIEWS:

I found the Earth Flute CD to be very easy to follow with the directions and jammed packed with information.

I really liked the different categories of music, Christmas, Folk, Classic and especially the Blues (Goin to Chicago was my favorite).

I think the CD will be good for the beginner and worth it just for the songs with the experienced player (which I am not). Reviewed by Randy Keys

I like the stacks, (Randy is describing the HyperStudio tutorials), because it has a lot of info in them which would be good for the beginner. The interactive parts are nice to where you can click on a flute to hear the different keys. The videos are a nice touch too…After watching you on video and emailing you lately it's almost like I know you. That video will be nice for the beginners to learn from you. I can tell just from the little bit I watched that you really get into playing your flute. I can see it in your face.

Nice chatting with you again Dick and I want to thank you again for the CD. I'm sure I'll have years of enjoyment from it. It's something I play more at our hunting camp in the upper peninsula of Michigan. We have 80 acres up there in the middle of the woods. (We use) gas lights or a deep cycle battery with an inverter for a brighter light. We haul our own water, have a wood cook stove and we have a box stove for heat, although we usually use a propane stove for cooking. It's like going back in time and the flute just seems to fit in, in that type of atmosphere. Then again I had to teach myself to play the guitar and harp so I wouldn't go stir crazy at night up there. Especially in deer season when it's dark when I come in from my blind. I start going up there at the end of May when the snows all gone and with luck the black flies too…It's about 300 miles from our house so when I go, I like to go for a 1½ - 2 weeks. Now that I'm retired out of the shop I can do that. I retired young so I can enjoy life a little…. Reviewed by Randy Armstrong

IMPORTANT: This book is very complex in layout. There are many pages of tablature, (the music you can play on your flute), as well as graphic elements throughout. For that reason this ebook is available in PDF, only. (It's the only format you'll need.) When you receive your book, you can read it in the free Acrobat Reader application that's downloadable from adobe.com, or from Acrobat Reader you can print the book (recommended) so you can use it like any other paper instruction book you might have purchased in the past. The mp3 files that come with this book are playable on your computer, your digital player like the iPod, your iPad, or you can burn a playable CD.

Author BIO: Dick Claassen has been a musician since a very young age. He began his musical life with piano lessons, and he hated to practice. The sound of the piano just didn't intrigue him enough to make him want to practice. Even so, the piano gave Dick good training in chord structure and melody line.

When Dick was in high school he began the exploration of the guitar, eventually putting his efforts into the classical guitar. That experience was very satisfying, because Dick had found an instrument he truly loved. Soon, though, Dick began to explore the 5-string banjo, finger picking his way to Nervana. :-) Then he explored the blues harp, (harmonica played in a bluesy way). Not satisfied with having enough musical things to do, he explored the dulcimer, learning to finger pick it like he did the guitar and banjo.

Now Dick is exploring the Native American flute. He instantly fell in love with the beautiful tone of the instrument, and playing the flute was as satisfying as all the other instruments he had learned to play. But Dick still wasn't satisfied. He found that there really weren't that many instruction books for the NAF. So he decided to write his own. He just finished writing the flute tablature book, Earth Flute.

Dick has spent most of his life as a teacher, teaching math and chemistry students at the college level, and teaching banjo and guitar to anyone who wanted his expertise. Dick has written two math textbooks for Houghton Mifflin, numerous magazine articles, and eleven novels for Awe-Struck E-Books.
