The
player
below features brief sound samples of WindPoem flutes. One
misconception about the Native American flute is that it's an
instrument for tradtional music only -- ethereal and "spiritual." It
offers so much more, though, and that's why we've posted on our MySpace blog
site a few songs to demonstrate its diversity, from the traditional
sounds of "Shaman Magic" to its use in hard rockers like "Aqualung"
(it's used in the middle acoustic section of the song) to light rock
and folk songs such as "Horse With No Name" and "Bittercreek." The
flute, like most everything else, is limited by only the expectations of the player.
